Senior Media Relations Consultant. For three decades, Rich has helped financial services firms, law firms, public and private corporations, associations, government leaders and Internet-based businesses optimize their media relations success.

His unique training philosophy enables clients to gain confidence and composure when addressing the media and to distill their message and unique value proposition into clear and concise talking points. Numerous clients have become industry thought leaders and regular “go-to” sources for journalists, analysts and industry watchers.

In addition to media training, Rich provide crisis communications. Examples of projects include helping change the public’s perception of:

• An off-shore software company charged with copyright infringement by the recording industry
• A law firm representing the City of New York in litigation against the gun industry
• A national trade association in antitrust litigation
• A publisher charged with copyright infringement by a major publisher
• A hospital during a 30-day nurses’ strike

Prior to staring his own firm, Rich headed the East Coast Professional Services Practice in the Corporate Group at Euro RSCG Magnet, a full-service, national public relations agency. He directed teams in a variety of industries, including telecommunications, pharmaceuticals, financial services, manufacturing, heavy industry and publishing.

Earlier, Rich was Deputy Press Secretary in former Governor Mario M. Cuomo’s come-from-behind 1982 gubernatorial campaign and was a key member of Governor Cuomo’s administration.  He was appointed Deputy Commissioner at the New York State Liquor Authority, where he created a media and community relations program for the agency as the Authority’s first public relations professional in over 20 years.

Before coming to government, Rich was a reporter and feature writer for The Public Sector, the Civil Service Employees Association’s bi-weekly, 225,000-circulation newspaper.

Rich holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from Ohio University and a Master of Arts in English from Miami University.
